A Game of Thrones – Genesis is the video game inspired by the great and successful saga « A Song of Ice and Fire » by Georges R.R. Martin. In this PC real-time strategy game, your subtleties in politic will be as important as your skill at war. In its rich solo campaign was writen by Georges R.R. Martin himself, A game of Thrones lead you into the battles and plots beetween the great Houses ruling over Westeros. From the arrival of nymeria in Dorne until the awakening of the « Others » beyond the wall, it is the whole genesis of A Song of Ice and Fire that you will discover throughout a thousand years of history. You will take part in the biggest battles and the founding events of Westeros, as the invasion of the land by Aegon the Conqueror or the War of the Usurper. A Game of Thrones – Genesis is also great in pultiplayer. Up to 8 players can fight against each other through thrilling games to claim the Iron Throne… alliances, betrayals, cheap tricks and pitched battles are to be awaited !

In this strategy game, victory doesn’t necessarily go with brutal strenght. You can of course choose to trample on your ennemies with military forces, but you can also try to block them in an economic war, or use diplomaty and wits to overcome them with in politics ! Betrayal, deception and various cheap tricks are there, so watch your steps ! To access the desired Iron Throne, you will need to win enough prestige for your House. Many means are at your disposal: collect wealth, build alliances, control the Seven’s temples or slaughter your opponents… However, some action may lead you to lose prestique : besieging a castle or an ennemy city in times of peace, being the victim of a secret alliance, see your illegitimate sons discovered… Every tools are in your hands to get enough prestige to access the Iron Throne before your opponents : murder their liege lord, block their trade routes, bribe their units and turn them, capture their officers and ask for ransom… every mean is good to win the game of thrones !

War and peace are is something really important in A game of Thrones and it regulates your fighting tactic and the way you will take control of the various territories. At the beginning of each game, there is a precarious peace. However, each action has an influence on this state, may it be positive or negative. Each fight, murder, imprisonment and trick will bring the game toward war. On the contrary, sending peace messages to ennemies castles, free a captured unit without ransom and similar action will preserve peace. Depending on your strategy and plans, you may need to start war or to try to maintain peace as long as possible.
