It's not bad ! But it's different.

wasd movement mean that you can fight while moving (with melee weapon for example) but it is not the case in DP.
When your caracter attack, he can't move and it's a very important part of the game balance. Every time you make an attack, you will loose time and your ennemy can move away from you (excepted for the rogue with is auto speed ability on attack). So teamplay, root, snare, stun become important and tactical.

Like in a RTS, you can't give more than one order at the same time to your caracter, so, if you can move with wasd, in a fighting action you will have not to move to be able to attack ! And that will sucks a lot.
(if you give an attack order and move with your keybord, the move order will replace the attack one, you see what I mean ?)

So, if I give you the possibility to use wasd in order to move, you will have not to use it because you will break all your order when moving.
And finally, you will not use it because it will become non-playable.

Game demand you to give order and let your caracter move alone to do it, and ask you to move without doing anything else to replace on the fighting ground.
It's why we decide to give a button for moving and a different one for action and it's why you have RTS control, like in WAR 3 or Dota (player demand wasd movement in dota ?).

Well, I don't get why it sucks. Of course You won't be able to move while attacking and attack while moving, but when You're not attacking it would be lots easier to move with AWSD. So You walk with W forward and when You see an enemy You click on it. Char automatically run to enemy and attack it, eventually char will follow enemy when he run away. But after finishing the enemy You move with AWSD again...

AWSD movement should be optional.

And moving with mouse sometimes is harder 'coz camera is always so close that You can't really point at where You wanna go, so Your char is walkin' like he was drunk or laggin'.

One other reason : if u have your hand on wasd to move, how do u manage to rotate the cam properly?
I don't know for u, but I have only 5 fingers :mrgreen:

Yes, off course, but you have to know that to play without problems. All the noob will break their action trying to follow their target in combat and will flame us because the action interface sucks.
And to be honest, I think that give order will be harder with wasd. For example, throwing the chest.
You will have to stop moving before give the throwing order because if you are moving it will immediatly delete your throwing order. And that will cut the game velocity. It is a little thing but it count. You will not see someone running and suddendly throw the chest exept if he let is caracter move without using wasd.

I think that speed is an important part of DP and action have to be easy to make. If you have to stop moving at each time you have to give and order, and be sur that it is done before moving again, game will loose speed, interaction will be harder (you have two action to make for each order : Stop and the order. Even if "stop" is just don't use keyboard anymore it is an action to make) and you will loose time (imagine you have to stop moving to give and attack order, your target will not wait for you and second are sometime very important in DP) making your caracter weaker.

So, wasd will only be usefull when you have only to move witch is not the important part of the gameplay and the fact that you have better not to use it when you have to give an order is all except user friendly I think.

Yes, I agree this time because optional let the player make his choice.
But for now, we are a small team and we'll only start to make the optional thing when the imperative one will be in game......witch is not the case for now :)

Now that i have some friends (yay) i can play with them but if im in a game they cant contact me untill im out, but by that time im back in another game. So i think there should be a small box where you can only see when people 'talk>' to you or if the invite you when your in-game.
or the box could pop up somewhere i dont no, but it would be alot better in my opinion :mrgreen:

A mail system will be implanted in game in the future (see the icons of the game menue), so it will solve it :)

I don't know how 'bout You, but I have two hands and if I remember properly I can rotate the camera with mouse wheel...

Solution would be easy: after character took action with mouse, for example throwing chest, all the other actions will be cancelled, chest will be thrown and then character will go again.

PS. Sorry if I missed something, this post should be sent few days ago, it just didn't because of comp crash.
